The Journal of Movement and Neuromuscular Science (JMNS) is an independent scholarly journal dedicated to the mechanisms, measurement, alteration and recovery of human movement and neuromuscular function.

Neural mechanisms, biomechanics and clinical applications.

JMNS publishes basic, translational, clinical and applied research in which human movement or neuromuscular function represents a substantive component of the scientific question, methodology, outcome or clinical application.

Neuroscience & Motor Control
How the nervous and neuromuscular systems generate and control movement.Neural and neuromuscular mechanisms underlying human movement, including motor control and learning, sensorimotor integration, neuroplasticity, electrophysiology, electromyography, brain–muscle interactions and non-invasive brain stimulation.
Biomechanics & Human Movement
How human movement is measured, quantified and explained biomechanically.Quantitative analysis of human movement and mechanical function, including kinematics, kinetics, gait, balance, posture, muscle and joint mechanics, motion capture, force measurement, wearable sensing and computational movement analysis.
Clinical & Applied Movement Sciences
How movement is altered, recovered and applied in clinical care and performance.Human movement in health, ageing, disease, rehabilitation and performance, including neurological and musculoskeletal conditions, Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine, adapted physical activity, exercise and sport, injury, recovery and technology-assisted assessment and intervention.

Computational methods, artificial intelligence, robotics, wearable technologies and other emerging approaches are within scope when they contribute directly to the study, assessment or recovery of human movement.
