Privacy Notice
Pre-launch information on how JMNS intends to handle personal data associated with its website and publishing activities.
The final privacy notice will be completed after the legal publisher and data-controller identity, public domain, hosting and email providers, dedicated journal contact details and processor arrangements are formally established.
Publisher and data-protection roles.
JMNS is independently published by Lucia Interrante. Publisher / publication office: Via Rusca 3, 17100 Savona, Italy. Identification of the publisher does not by itself determine the GDPR data controller. The final privacy notice will separately identify the applicable data controller, lawful bases, contact route, hosting and processor arrangements before public launch.
Data that may be processed.
Depending on the service used, JMNS may process contact details and correspondence supplied directly by users, technical security and server-log information, and information required to operate editorial and publishing workflows.
When the JMNS Editorial Portal is activated, manuscript submission and peer-review data will be handled through that access-controlled system. The editorial record may include account details, author metadata, manuscript files, reviewer invitations and reports, conflict declarations, editorial decisions, revisions, proof correspondence and security/session records. JMNS will not present an informal email exchange as the official submission record.
Only data needed for defined functions.
Personal data should be processed only for legitimate journal administration, communication, security, editorial, publishing, integrity and legal-compliance functions, and should be limited to what is reasonably necessary for those purposes.
External processors will be identified after selection.
Hosting, email-delivery, preservation or other providers may process limited personal data on behalf of JMNS. The manuscript-management application itself is part of the JMNS website codebase; the final hosting and email providers will be identified after deployment. This page will name or describe relevant provider categories and international-transfer information only after those services are actually selected.
Editorial retention periods are defined.
JMNS has adopted a records schedule that distinguishes permanent scholarly and peer-review records from time-limited drafts, unpublished files, authentication records, operational notifications, logs and backups. Retention review is controlled and audit-aware; the Editorial Management System does not perform unattended automatic deletion.
The complete schedule is published in the Editorial Records and Retention Policy. The final privacy/GDPR notice will add the real hosting and processor arrangements, controller contact route, lawful-basis information and other deployment-specific information before public launch. Any future account requirement for Data Discovery will not be activated until its purpose, account data, retention and privacy basis are documented here.
